I have been thinking a lot about all of the friendships that were formed due to Hal's boards and Taper Madness. There is a runner in my office that just ran her first half marathon and she asked how I got in to long distance running- I told her about the boards and all of you guys- how we would meet at races. What great memories from Chicago to Grandma's to Steamtown.

I hope every one has time to reflect back time to time.

Going through the memberlist I see a lot of names of people I haven't spoken to in years.

What a long strange trip it's been! I will always love this place...such great memories!
I have been on a few other running sites ( and even other non running sites) and I feel sorry for those peeps, it's missing the wonderful energy that was found here!

I thought Evil Don had deactivated this site? I haven't checked in for so long, I didn't realize it was still active.

Yes, it's been a long time and there were oh, so many fun times, with so many folks that stemmed from this group. Good stuff, indeed.

Nope, the site has never been inactivated ... I migrated it to a host that I use for other purposes - like the Haliburton race. The low traffic just didn't justify a hosting account of its own. Basically, all I need to do is keep the name registered and the site will live forever. It would be nice to see a resurgence of the site but unfortunately facebook and other social media have pretty much killed Bulletin Board sites. I still check in once in a while just for fun.

Yup, I check in on it once in a while, too. There's no explaining how special this group was (and still is) to anyone that wasn't a part of it.

Huh, I thought it was inactive too, just clicked an old link and there it was.

I'm still around and running, but now not running as many miles as before. Hard to believe the distances and paces I once enjoyed with many of you, but those were some good times.

We had better discussions here than most I've seen on Facebook, usually respectful because we knew each other better and expected more of each other.

Hi guys!!

Drank beer last month with Farnk. Had some good pizza too.

I'm trying to get my run on again, maybe try for Barkley Fall Classic in 2017.

Foolishness.
