No, 17 doesn't refer to the first third of the movie 42. It's the first two digits on my scale! I haven't seen a weight starting with 17 since shortly after I moved out to California, about 7 years ago. A stressful job (that I love) along with some nagging injuries kept me from running the miles I needed to burn off my food intake. At age 55 I'm finally learning how to create balance, both with the job and with the food (Dove Bites at 60 cal each are heaven-sent!). Still have quite a ways to go on both fronts but am feeling like I'm on the right path.

I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend filled with good miles, good friends, and good food (in moderation of course).

Congrats! I am too embarassed to give the first 2 digits of my weight. Similar problems with stress and aging. When my scale broke, I didn't replace it. I finally bought a scale a few months ago and am still not weighing myself regularly but was happy to see that 2nd digit drop one. Now I just need to deal with an over-tight hip flexor and a bit of PF and I'll be back on track. The 13s are still a ways away but I see them in my future.

Growing old sucks. Menopause truly sucks. Being one of those cool, active older folks that I admire is hard! Being a slug is amazingly easy but not rewarding.

oh Beth I am right there with you ! Cant seem to get ahead of the creep-up so I've stopped stepping on the scale as well as resigned to 2-3 min/mile slower than 4 years ago... I won't say that second number but it is closer to Kent's than yours... Embarassed

As someone who is married to a woman going through menopause I have to completely agree. Back in February we were sleeping with the bedroom windows wide open and the ceiling fan on. I know it is 100x worse for my wife than me so I don't complain. Too much.

I'm stuck at 163. I would love to break 160 but that's just my ego. The size of jeans I used to wear in high school is now too big on me so I know that much more of my weight is muscle now so the actual number doesn't really matter.
