I received this on Monday from Amazon.com: Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day: The Discovery That Revolutionizes Home Baking
Jeff Hertzberg MD, Zoe Francois

The basic recipe is much like the "No Knead Bread" recipe that Trent posted, but it's actually even simpler, if you can believe that. The idea with this is that you make a very large amount of dough at once and keep it in the fridge for up to two weeks. Each time you need a loaf you simply remove about 1 lb of dough and bake it in 30 minutes.

I tripled the basic recipe and made two loaves on Wednesday. My kids devoured 1.5 of them with dinner Wednesday night. The rest disappeared yesterday. While it's not the best bread I've ever eaten, it certainly is very good. I will slowly bake the rest of it over the next week.

The rest of the book discusses variations on the basic recipe and also goes into pizza crusts, cinnamon rolls, etc. I'm not sure how difficult the advanced recipes will get, but so far I am very happy with it. I am going to make my first loaf of cheese bread tonight, we'll see how it turns out.

I just wait for Melina to get another traffic ticket. It's much simpler.

Funny you should mention that. Exactly how iron clad are those photographed infractions?
